Create a free account, then create your first bot. That starts 14 days of Pro: lead capture, no "Powered by" badge, up to 10 bots, CSV exports. No card needed, and it happens once per account. During the trial hosted AI is capped at 500 messages (unlimited with your own key). When it ends you drop to Free unless you upgrade; nothing is deleted.
One visitor question answered by our hosted AI. Messages answered with your own AI key don't count toward your allowance at all. Allowances reset on the 1st of each month (UTC).
Your bot keeps going if it can: first it uses any message packs or bonus messages you have, then it switches to your own AI key automatically if you've connected one. Only if neither is available does it show visitors a short "temporarily unavailable" note, and we email you so it never fails silently.
You paste an API key from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (ChatGPT), Google (Gemini) or xAI (Grok). Bots that use it run on your account with that provider, you pay them directly at their rates, and we never cap or mark up those messages. It's available on every plan, including Free.
Yes. Upgrades and downgrades take effect right away and are prorated by Stripe. If you cancel, you keep your paid features until the end of the period you've paid for, then move to Free.
They stay online and keep their knowledge and history. If you have more bots than your new plan allows, they keep working, but you can't create new ones until you're under the limit. Features your new plan doesn't include, like lead capture on Free, switch off.
Each website import takes up to 10 pages on Free, 50 on Starter, 200 on Pro and 500 on Agency, and the 14-day trial uses the Pro limit. Import a single page, the whole site or a sitemap; robots.txt is respected. Paid plans and the trial can re-import a website automatically every week, and on Free you click "Refresh from website" when your site changes. Stripe. Checkout happens on Stripe's secure page, and we never see or store your card number. Invoices and payment methods are managed in the Stripe customer portal, linked from your dashboard.

Yes. The Free plan has no time limit and needs no card: 1 bot and 100 hosted AI messages a month, unlimited when you connect your own AI key. Upgrade only when you need more bots, messages or features.
No. Sign up with your name and email, build a bot and use the 14-day Pro trial without entering a card. You only add payment details at Stripe checkout if you choose a paid plan.
Pro and Agency can hide the "Powered by InstantKnowledgeBot" badge. Agency can also replace it with your own text and link, such as your agency's name. It's also hidden during the free Pro trial, and comes back automatically when the trial ends unless you upgrade.
It can be at higher volumes. With your own key, we don't cap or mark up messages, and you pay your AI provider per token at their rates, so the cost depends on the model, your documents' size and how many people chat.
